Julianne spent her childhood in Fairfax, VA, New Orleans, LA, and Baden-Baden, Germany. Following graduation with a double major in German and Communications from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, VA, she promptly moved to New York City to work for a consulting firm. She met her husband Brian in Manhattan, and moved to Norfolk, VA. Prior to starting her family, Julianne worked for a Design Build company in Virginia Beach and an Architecture/Interior Design firm in Norfolk. She stayed home with her children for a while before venturing back into the working world. Julianne was always drawn to design, and after years of helping friends with their interior spaces, she started her business in 2013. Marianne was her first client. They quickly bonded and realized that two is better than one!
Marianne is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee and a graduate of The University of Tennessee. Armed with a degree in Art History, she promptly moved to Washington, D.C., where she found fulfilling work at the White House and on Capitol Hill, forged lifelong friendships, and found a husband who shares her passions. A stint as the deputy director at the Virginia Governor’s Mansion was followed by a move to Hampton Roads, beginning her family, and nurturing her own design and window treatment business. As her family grew and moved into a 300+ year old farmhouse in Virginia Beach, Marianne soon became her own best customer. Collaborating with Julianne on an addition to this home was not simply a happy success. Complimentary talents, a simpatico design aesthetic, and a shared joy in helping friends turn foggy dreams into stylish reality convinced them to join forces. In addition to numerous residential projects, Marianne and Julianne have worked on everything from single room updates and staging homes for developers to taking a project from design to completion alongside architects and contractors.
